About The Building

Borrowing from the traditional fabric of New York Avenue row houses, the New York & Capital development is designed as a beacon for the ever-growing neighborhood that keeps the existing rhythm of the current streetscape. This concept yielded a vibrant city shopping street with 370,000 s.f. of retail at the building’s base giving way to glass contemporary residential space with 780 units. Research of the surrounding context helped to responsibly increase the density while maintaining the integrity of the neighborhood.
