About the Building

Built in Charlotte’s Historic Dilworth neighborhood, this 24-unit luxury apartment building provided some immediate design challenges. Fitting this project into the historic character of the neighborhood meant that context greatly informed the schematic design of the building. Taking this project from beginning to end through the Charlotte Historic District Commission approval process meant a very hands-on approach from our team. Through precedent studies within the neighborhood, we developed a design that respectfully connects this site into the fabric of the surrounding context. The height of the building was of utmost concern in maintaining the existing rhythm of the East Boulevard corridor, so the third floor of the luxury residences was designed to be integrated into the roof profile.
